Last day to file your income tax has been moved to April 17th DUE TO the normal filing day, April 15th, landing on a Sunday. Normally the IRS would move the filing deadline to Monday the 16th, but that day is a holiday in the District of Columbia. Emancipation Day, which in Washington D.C has the same grounds as a Federal Holiday has changed the deadline for filing of income tax to be moved to the 17th of April.
